How many guests can join the private charter boat for 3 hours, 6 hours, and 10 hours?

When you hire a boat for a party with Windborne Charters, we can accommodate a maximum of 25 guests, in addition to the experienced skipper and crew. For a more relaxed and enjoyable experience, we recommend a group size of around 18 to 21 individuals. Windborne’s spacious deck offers plenty of room for everyone to spread out, relax on the comfortable cushions, and take in the stunning views.

Is food included in the private yacht charter?

For our private charter boat trips, we provide an indulgent morning tea on deck with freshly brewed coffee, tea, and cookies. However, food and alcoholic drinks are not included. This means you can choose between a self-catered picnic-style charter, or let us arrange catering tailored to your preferences and budget. We can cater for up to 17 guests at an additional cost. Share your ideas with us, and we’ll ensure your dining experience complements your event perfectly.

What should we bring for the charter?

To make the most of your private yacht charter, pack essential outdoor gear such as warm clothing, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimming attire, and towels. If you’re prone to seasickness, consider bringing the necessary medication or consider taking it in advance. Are we allowed to bring alcoholic drinks on board?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) beverages to enjoy during your boat party. Please note that we do not sell drinks on board – alcoholic or otherwise – so be sure to bring your preferred selection.

Can we visit Cathedral Cove during the charter?

Absolutely! Weather permitting, we can incorporate Cathedral Cove tours into your charter, where we sail past or even anchor at Cathedral Cove. Please note that this is subject to weather conditions, and the final decision will be made during the safety trip, putting your safety and comfort first. If it’s not possible to visit Cathedral Cove, be assured that we know numerous alternative anchorages at the Mercury Islands and Coromandel coastline that are just as charming – and have the benefit of being secluded and remote. You will definitely get to enjoy picturesque locations to explore during your private cruise charter.

I enjoyed a great day trip out to the greater Mercury Island on Windborne. She is a beautiful gaff-rigged schooner built in 1928. Skipper Avon is a mine of information and stories, is extremely knowledgeable with a great sense of humour, very entertaining and fun. His very hospitable partner, Mihaela, provided lunch and plenty of snacks. I have been out on similar charters but the standard of food on Windborne far surpassed any other, really prepared with care, and delicious!
